I finally came across Smucker’s Magic Shell Cupcake at the supermarket. It’s been marketed since last year but I’ve never seen it in the stores locally. In case you never tried this stuff, you squirt the Magic Shell liquid over ice cream and pop in the freezer. In seconds the topping freezes and forms a brittle shell over your ice cream.
The Cupcake flavor is advertised as “Natural and Artifical Vanilla Cupcake Flavored Topping with Colored Specks.” I guess the “colored specks” are too tiny to be called sprinkles. I don’t eat ice cream so I have no use for Magic Shell.
I read the nutrition label. A two tablespoon serving of Magic Shell has 220 calories, 16 grams of fat with 8 grams of saturated fat. Uh, nevermind. I’d rather eat a real cupcake.
