Barack-y Road is new, the special blend made just for inauguration. Handmade marshmallows, butter-roasted peanuts, dulce de leche caramel and chocolate chips that gelato genius Josh makes himself. That’s in addition to the base of fresh milk from Calder Dairy (one of the last farmstead dairies in Michigan), organic Demerara sugar and Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans.

Do you think President-Elect Obama actually eats all this sugar sugar?

Truth be told, no. According to the NY Times, Obama’s favorite snack foods are:

  • Planters Trail Mix: Nuts, Seeds & Raisins
  • Roasted almonds
  • Pistachios
  • Water
  • Vegetables, especially broccoli and spinach

  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt and vinegar potato chips
  • Asparagus (“if no other vegetables are available, he’ll eat it”)
  • Soft drinks (he prefers water)

We certainly have a healthy and fit President in the White House!
